We are tea lovers and as a result we’ve scoured the world to procure for you the finest teas from virtually every corner of this fine planet. In our pilgrimages to fulfil this mission, we’ve found that every country and region has some very unique teas, and even more unique stories and history that accompany them. When you drink our teas, not only are drinking some of the finest teas that this globe has to offer, you are also drinking some pretty serious history that is chalked full of stories and culture.

At Tea Pilgrim it remains our mission to bring you the finest and most luxurious loose leaf teas from around the world.

On average, each 6oz cup of tea requires about 2.5g of loose leaf tea. See the chart below for an average number of cups that you can expect when you buy our teas.

Your tea will arrive in fresh sealed pouches or sealed tins, depending on the size. We use this specialized packaging to seal in the freshness. All packaging is food-grade quality (FDA approved) and can be used to store your tea for approximately 24 months.

Tea works really hard for us. Not only is it colourful and super tasty, it can be stored for up to 2 years when opened and up to 5 years if it is vacuum sealed.

Each of our teas have their own steeping time and instructions. Generally, you will want 1 tablespoon (or about 2.5g of tea) per cup, with water heated to 100°C - 212°F and with a steeping time from 3-7 minutes (the longer you steep, the greater the tea intensity). Organic mean that a minimum 70% of the ingredients must be organic. That allows for 30% to be non-organic including the use of artificial flavours and ingredients which may have pesticides and other chemicals. When a tea is Certified Organic, it guarantees that at least 95% of the ingredients are certified organic.

An organic tea is not necessarily of lesser quality than a Certified Organic tea; rather, it simply means that the tea has not been submitted for certification, even though it may meet the criteria.

For personal health questions we always recommend to speak to your healthcare provider. All of our teas have an ingredient lists, so you have the info you need to ask your doctor whether specific blends or ingredients are right for you.

Iced tea can be made from any tea. Our rule of thumb is to double the amount of tea used! This means if you use 2.5g per cup for your hot tea, you should use 5g when making it iced.

You should also steep your tea in half the amount of hot liquid and pour over ice. You should also count the ice as part of your total water volume when deciding on how much tea to use.
